Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.

Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.

The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.

President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva has stated that he does not know and has never had any professional, personal, or political relationship with businesswoman and lobbyist Roberta Luchsinger. The denial follows a TV Globo interview in which Lula claimed he had never seen the woman in his life. This statement was made after reports highlighted photographs and a video on social media showing the two together on different occasions. Lula's campaign team issued a note explaining that as a public figure, the president is frequently approached by numerous people for photos, and such records do not indicate a personal bond. Allies and PT leaders further asserted that Lula did not lie, arguing that he was unaware of who Luchsinger was even when seeing the photos. Luchsinger is a friend of the president's eldest son, Fabio Luis Lula da Silva, and is currently under investigation by the Federal Police regarding illegal discounts on INSS pensions and benefits. Investigations also identified payments from Luchsinger to former chief of staff Marco Aurelio Santana and a draft contract for the sale of cannabidiol medications to the Ministry of Health.
