A court in the state of New Mexico has ordered Meta to pay $567 million in damages after finding that the company created a public nuisance that endangered young users. Meta has stated that it disagrees with the decision and intends to appeal. New Mexico Attorney General Raúl Torrez described the ruling as a victory for parents and children. This case occurs as dozens of other US states pursue similar lawsuits against the company.
