Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.

Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.

The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.

Nestlé is developing a new range of products specifically designed for consumers using GLP-1 weight loss medications such as Ozempic and Wegovy. The company is utilizing artificial intelligence and nutritional science to create products that address the side effects of rapid weight loss, including muscle loss and the depletion of facial fat. Chief technology officer Stefan Palzer stated that the company is using AI to analyze clinical research and identify nutrient combinations that support muscle health, hydration, and overall nutritional intake.

As part of this strategy, Nestlé has added collagen protein to its Vital Proteins brand to target skin, hair, and nail health. The company has also patented ingredient combinations intended to reduce appetite for users who experience increased hunger after stopping GLP-1 treatments. In the United States, the company launched the Boost Advanced Nutrition Shake, which contains 35 grams of protein. In Asia and Australia, it introduced Milo PRO High Protein. To accelerate this process, Nestlé developed an internal AI platform called Food Genie to analyze scientific literature and a database of approximately 120,000 recipes.

Outlets with a center lean framed the move as a strategic response to a growing problem for food companies, with one source adding critical context regarding the efficacy of collagen and the potential health risks of artificial sweeteners used in the new products. Outlets with a center right lean framed the initiative as a business opportunity to turn a market threat into growth by leveraging technology and consumer data.
