Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.

Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.

The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.

Federal Deputy Nikolas Ferreira requested assistance from former banker Daniel Vorcaro to help a former aide and lawyer, Thiago Faria, release a mining asset. The request was revealed by ICL Notícias through audio messages sent in March 2025. In the recordings, Ferreira introduces Faria to Vorcaro, who responded by saying, "Amen brother. We are in the war together." While Ferreira acknowledged the authenticity of the messages, he told Jovem Pan that the audio was irrelevant and that he did not have a close relationship with Vorcaro. He stated he was simply passing along a contact for a trusted friend and denied receiving any financial benefits from the banker.

Additional leaked messages from 2024 show Vorcaro claiming to a businessman that he funded all of Ferreira's flights, though the reports do not specify the number of flights or the exact period. Ferreira did not comment on the allegations regarding the private flights. Thiago Faria denied any irregularities, explaining that the contacts were a result of all parties being from Belo Horizonte.

These revelations are part of a larger leak involving Vorcaro and various Brazilian authorities. Reports from Folha de S.Paulo and Estado de São Paulo indicate that Vorcaro maintained contact with Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes to discuss investigations into Banco Master, which was involved in a billion-real bank fraud. The reports claim Moraes and Vorcaro met at least six times and that Moraes edited a contract involving his wife's law firm and the bank. These findings have sparked a crisis within the Supreme Court and led to calls for Moraes' impeachment.

How each side framed it

The center-leaning outlet framed the story as part of a broader systemic crisis involving the Supreme Court and high-level corruption.

The center-right leaning outlet focused on the deputy's denials and his claim that the leak was a retaliatory move following his criticism of Justice Alexandre de Moraes.
