The Russian online marketplace Ozon has offered its sellers the option to store goods in warehouses located in Almaty and Astana, Kazakhstan. According to the company, this move allows for delivery to customers in Russia, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan. Ozon stated that delivery to Russia would take a few days, citing an average of four to five days for orders reaching Yekaterinburg. The company is offering free transport of goods to the Kazakhstan warehouses until September 30 and allows for the storage of any number of items, including oversized cargo.
This decision follows a series of Ukrainian drone strikes targeting Ozon logistics centers in the Samara region and other areas since late August. These attacks followed similar strikes on the warehouses of Wildberries, another major marketplace. In response to the security situation, Ozon previously announced it would stock and sell goods directly from its network of over 80,000 pickup points, which the company says can operate as small logistics centers.
