Pernambuco Gubernatorial Candidates Conduct Campaign Events Across State

Candidates for the government of Pernambuco carried out various campaign activities on Thursday, October 3, including interviews, questioning sessions, and public rallies. Current Governor Raquel Lyra, running for re-election, visited the University of Pernambuco (UPE) where she promised to implement university restaurants and advance the restructuring of career plans and salaries for the institution's staff. Lyra also participated in an online questioning session with UOL and Folha de São Paulo and held a flyering event in the Santo Amaro neighborhood of Recife.

João Campos, the former mayor of Recife, focused his agenda on São Lourenço da Mata and the Recife metropolitan area. During a meeting with the Friends of Várzea Fria Association, Campos proposed the "Sem Água, Sem Conta" program, which would waive water bills for Social Tariff beneficiaries living in areas subject to rationing or rotation who receive no water. His schedule also included a small motorcade in the West Zone of Recife and the inauguration of a committee for state deputy Júnior Matuto in Paulista.

Other candidates also maintained active schedules. Guilherme Fonseca participated in a radio interview in Caruaru and attended an act against feminicide in Recife. Ivan Moraes took part in a questioning session at UPE and attended a project presentation at the Federal University of Pernambuco. Professora Camila visited Carpina for flyering and spoke with students at the Luso-Brasileira Faculty. Victor Assis was also listed as a candidate, while Professor Jeremias do Banco had no scheduled commitments. Renan Hallais had a scheduled appearance at UPE, though his attendance was not confirmed by all sources.
