Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.
Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin are scheduled to hold bilateral talks on Friday, September 11, on the sidelines of the BRICS Summit in New Delhi. According to Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, the agenda for the meeting includes the potential sale of Su-57 aircraft to India as well as discussions on trade and the economy. Additionally, Russia and India are seeking to upgrade the jointly produced supersonic BrahMos cruise missile to add new capabilities.
The 18th BRICS Summit will take place at Bharat Mandapam on September 12 and 13. The event will bring together leaders from the 11 member countries, including Brazil, China, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, Iran, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, and the United Arab Emirates. Chinese President Xi Jinping is expected to participate, which would mark his first trip to India since 2019. UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres is also expected to attend.
During the briefing, Peskov described a proposed U.S. move to levy 100 percent tariffs on countries purchasing Russian crude oil as illegal and unacceptable. In previous discussions regarding the conflict in Ukraine, Prime Minister Modi has stated that India supports all efforts for peace and has called for a peaceful resolution to the issue.
