A new Quaest survey released on Saturday, August 29, indicates a technical tie in the race for the government of Pará. Former Ananindeua mayor Dr. Daniel Santos of the Podemos party holds 28 percent of voting intentions, while Governor Hana Ghassan of the MDB holds 27 percent. Other candidates, including Gal Leite, Well Macedo, and Araceli Lemos, each hold 2 percent, while Jose Moita holds 1 percent. Undecided voters account for 29 percent, and blank or null votes total 9 percent. In a simulated second round, both Ghassan and Santos are tied at 36 percent, with 20 percent undecided and 8 percent blank or null. The survey interviewed 804 voters aged 16 and older between August 25 and 28. It has a margin of error of 3 percentage points and a 95 percent confidence level. The poll was registered with the Electoral Court under code PA-07718/2026 and was commissioned by TV Liberal. Additional data indicates that former governor Helder Barbalho leads the race for the Senate with 23 percent. Dr. Daniel Santos resigned as mayor of Ananindeua in April to run for governor, and Governor Ghassan assumed office after Helder Barbalho left to run for the Senate.
