Rai Director Seeks New Host for Report Following Presutti's Withdrawal

Paolo Corsini, the director of Rai's In-depth department, is seeking a new host for the investigative program Report after Giulia Presutti stepped down from the role. Corsini stated that the program is intended to air on November 8 and confirmed that Davide Piervincenzi will remain as a host. He expressed a desire to maintain gender balance by appointing a woman to replace Presutti. Claudia Di Pasquale, a veteran reporter for the show, has emerged as a leading candidate for the position. Other names mentioned include Giulia Innocenzi, though reports indicate concerns regarding her professional journalistic credentials, and Raffaella Notariale.

The transition has been marked by internal conflict. Bernardo Iovene and Giulio Valesini, long time reporters for the show, previously rejected offers to serve as head writers in protest against the initial appointment of Presutti and Piervincenzi. Iovene stated that dialogue with Rai would only resume if both original nominees stepped down, with external reporters threatening to leave the program entirely. Additionally, a verbal altercation reportedly occurred between Report reporters and journalist Salvo Sottile. Former host Sigfrido Ranucci defended his team on social media, criticizing those he described as being protected by power.
