The head of Russia's state nuclear energy corporation, Alexei Likhachev, accused Ukraine of attacking diesel fuel trucks on Friday. Likhachev stated that the strikes occurred close to the perimeter of the Russian held Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, which is the largest in Europe. According to Likhachev, the attack killed two Russian servicemen and injured several other soldiers who were supporting the delivery of fuel to the station. He further claimed that the actions deliberately jeopardized the safety of the nuclear plant. Both sides in the conflict have regularly accused each other of endangering the facility since Russian forces seized it in February 2022.
