  • A hatched block means the outlet is affiliated with, or controlled by, a state.

Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.

Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.

The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.

A Russian drone struck the locomotive of a passenger train on the Kyiv to Warsaw route on Sunday, hitting the target approximately two kilometers from the border between Ukraine and Poland. No casualties were reported among the 206 passengers, as the train crew had been warned and passengers were evacuated. The attack occurred near the Yahodyn border crossing, where another drone strike targeted a nearby gas station, causing fires that damaged trucks and a supermarket building.

Ukrainian railway operator Ukrzaliznytsia stated that the intended target may have been a diplomatic train that had departed the station earlier than scheduled due to security adjustments. That train carried high profile figures including former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, former Swedish Prime Minister Carl Bildt, and former CIA Director David Petraeus, who were returning from a security conference in Kyiv. Carl Bildt confirmed on social media that his train was not the one hit, though passengers on his train were briefly told to prepare for evacuation. Boris Johnson described the attack as random and senseless.

Russian officials provided a different account, with the Ministry of Defense stating that the strikes targeted railway infrastructure used to transport military cargo from European countries. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski characterized the incident as a deliberate escalation by Moscow.

In other developments, the Russian state nuclear company Rosatom accused Ukraine of attacking fuel trucks near the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant. Meanwhile, officials in Nizhnekamsk, Russia, reported that Ukrainian drones hit civilian and industrial targets, resulting in at least two deaths. Some reports also noted that diplomatic signals suggest a possibility of renewed trilateral talks between Russia, Ukraine, and the United States in October.
