This represents the lowest maximum temperature for the year 2026 and the coldest September afternoon for that city since 2015. Meteorological forecasts indicate varying conditions for the following days. The National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) issued a storm alert for Tuesday, September 8, warning of potential rain, hail, and winds between 40 and 60 km/h across several states including São Paulo, Minas Gerais, and Goiás. Other reports suggest that while the sun may appear through clouds on Tuesday with a gradual rise in temperature, rains are expected to return by Wednesday, September 9.
