- A hatched block means the outlet is affiliated with, or controlled by, a state.
Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.
Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.
The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.
Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games, has obtained authorization from two federal judges in New York to subpoena Microsoft and Discord. The company is seeking information to identify the individuals responsible for leaking gameplay videos and other materials from the upcoming game Grand Theft Auto VI. Microsoft and Discord have until September 4 to respond to the requests. The subpoenas target data from Discord servers and Microsoft platforms, including GitHub and OneDrive, to identify three suspected accounts and members of forums where the material circulated.
The leaks are attributed to a group or account known as CyberLeek. The leaked material includes audiovisual content, artwork, images, and dialogue. According to court documents, Take-Two asserted that the leaked videos reproduce material for which it holds the copyright. CyberLeek has criticized Rockstar Games for its business practices, specifically the lack of a physical disc edition and the sale of a higher priced version with additional content. One center-right source further noted suspicions that CyberLeek may be using the leaks to promote a cryptocurrency.
Grand Theft Auto VI is set for release on November 19 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S. The game is set in the state of Leonida, a fictional version of Florida, and follows protagonists Jason and Lucia. While center-left sources frame the leaks as a disruption to an extensive marketing campaign, the center-right source focuses on the legal specifics of the DMCA request and the potential motives of the leaker.
