- A hatched block means the outlet is affiliated with, or controlled by, a state.
Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.
Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.
The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.

Tamil Nadu Health Minister K.G. Arunraj announced 115 new health initiatives in the Legislative Assembly on Monday, featuring a total estimated outlay of 2,997 crore rupees. A primary component of the plan is the Chief Minister's Elderly Health Insurance Scheme, which will provide free medical treatment to approximately 38 lakh senior citizens aged 70 and above regardless of income. This coverage includes high end diagnostic services, organ transplants, advanced cardiac surgeries, and cancer care packages at empanelled private and government hospitals.
The government intends to replace the 87 year old Tamil Nadu Public Health Act of 1939 with a modern version. This new legislation will include a provision that makes unsupervised home births outside of hospitals a punishable offense. Additionally, the state will establish TN Medicity, an integrated medical hub for research, clinical services, and medical tourism, with an initial 10 crore rupees allocated for a Detailed Project Report.
Public health access will be expanded through the Nalam 360 scheme, which offers 14 basic annual health tests free of charge for all citizens aged 30 and above across 1,257 government facilities. The government also announced the creation of 2,500 permanent staff nurse posts on a regular pay scale and 1,695 additional nursing roles. To bring advanced care to the district level, 284 temporary super speciality posts will be created across 25 specialities.
Other initiatives include a 26.87 crore rupee Integrated Mental Health Plan across 12 districts, the expansion of fertility treatment centers in 31 government medical colleges and six district hospitals, and the introduction of a Positive Health Policy supported by a mobile application.
