- A hatched block means the outlet is affiliated with, or controlled by, a state.
Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.
Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.
The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.
Bavarian authorities have detained a 28 year old woman and a 38 year old man, both Bulgarian nationals, following an arson attack in Munich early Thursday morning. The suspects were arrested at a nearby gas station after incendiary devices were thrown from a car at a construction site located near the offices of defense contractors Rohde and Schwarz and Helsing. Police extinguished one small fire and defused a second device; no injuries were reported and no significant damage occurred. The Bavarian Central Office for Combating Extremism and Terrorism (ZET) has taken over the investigation to determine if the attack had a political motive. Bavarian Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann stated that the incident reflects an increased risk of attacks on German infrastructure and defense companies. This event follows recent suspected sabotage of power substations and a drone attack at Leipzig airport. While some reports suggest the attack specifically targeted Rohde and Schwarz, officials have noted that multiple defense firms are located in the immediate area. Rohde and Schwarz confirmed the incident occurred near their premises but stated their own facilities were not affected.
