  • A hatched block means the outlet is affiliated with, or controlled by, a state.

Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.

Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.

The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.

Rescue teams in Nepal have pulled two workers alive from a hydropower tunnel nine days after a massive flash flood and glacial collapse devastated the region along the border with China. The survivors, identified as 30 year old mechanical foreman Sanjay Shah and 45 year old mechanical supervisor Kabir Maharjan, were rescued from the Trishuli 3A Hydropower Station on Friday. Both men were flown to a hospital in Kathmandu for medical treatment. One survivor, Sanjay Shah, reported that he had been in contact with three or four other workers while trapped and suggested that others might still be deeper in the tunnel.
