The United States military intercepted and sank a vessel in the eastern Pacific Ocean on Wednesday, September 2, after identifying it as a floating refueling station used for drug trafficking. The operation was conducted by the Joint Task Force Western Hemisphere under the direction of US Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) in coordination with the government of Ecuador.
