  • A hatched block means the outlet is affiliated with, or controlled by, a state.

Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.

Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.

The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.

A memorial maple tree in Berlin's Tiergarten was ripped from the ground during the night, marking the second attack on the site in one week. Berlin police discovered the damage around 1:20 a.m. on Sunday. The tree and its protective fence were damaged, and memorial candles and pictures were destroyed. This follows an incident approximately one week prior where a rainbow colored bench at the same location was vandalized with considerable physical violence. The Mitte district had installed the bench and tree in early August to show solidarity with the queer community following a terror attack at the end of July. During that attack, a 21 year old radicalized Islamist of Lebanese origin drove a car into a crowd and attacked others with a machete. The attack killed a 65 year old Polish woman and injured approximately 30 people. The perpetrator was shot dead by police the following day after a 24 hour manhunt. Criminal police are currently investigating the destruction of the tree for suspected property damage.
