Recent PISA study results indicate a significant decline in mathematics performance across multiple countries, including Mexico, Chile, and Germany. In Mexico, two out of three students fail to reach the minimum level of competence in mathematics. In Chile, the percentage of students below level 2 rose from 49 percent to 59 percent over ten years, with zero percent of students reaching the highest levels of complex and abstract problem solving. German students have reached their lowest scores in mathematics, reading, and science since the study began in 2000, with roughly one third of teenagers lacking sufficient basic competencies in math.
