Apple Unveils AirPods 5 with Enhanced Noise Cancellation and AI Integration

Apple has announced the release of AirPods 5, featuring improved active noise cancellation (ANC) and integration with the company's artificial intelligence systems. The new earbuds will be available starting September 18. The product line consists of two versions: a standard model and a higher end version with a wireless charging case. In the United States, the standard model is priced at $129 and the wireless charging version at $149. In Brazil, the entry model costs R$ 1.499 and the wireless version costs R$ 1.699.

The new generation features a redesigned acoustic architecture and Adaptive EQ to better fit different ear shapes. Apple claims the ANC is 50 percent more efficient than the previous generation. Additional features include an improved transparency mode, personalized spatial audio, and adaptive audio that automatically switches between ANC and transparency based on background noise. The wireless charging model adds a force sensor for volume control and extends battery life to five hours of music with ANC activated, compared to four hours for the standard model.

Integration with AI is a primary highlight, enabling features such as Live Translation and a smarter Siri that can be accessed without the phone. The design remains consistent with the AirPods 4 released in 2024, maintaining the open form factor without silicone tips. The announcement coincided with the introduction of new iPhones, including the iPhone Duo, which is the brand's first foldable phone.
